The Blue Bell Glinton

We established a new logo and branding scheme, signage, website, seasonal promotional menus and press adverts for the Blue Bell Glinton (Ranked in the 2018 Michelin Guide). The logo features a modern bell icon with contemporary typeface mixed with classic colours supported by fantastic food/location photography.


Glinton is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and at one time had a total of 6 ale-houses. Today the Blue Bell is Glinton’s only remaining village pub. Built in the 18th century it stands opposite St Benedict’s Church which dates back to the 5th century. It’s spire is celebrated by John Clare in the poem Glinton Spire’ and is considered one of the finest in the country. 


With its location and heritage the Blue Bell wanted to mix traditional with modern aiming to bring the ‘Restaurant meets Pub’ ethos to simply offer the best of both worlds under one roof. A new logo, brand colours, menu, adverts and online booking website was needed to reflect this together with promotion of the high quality food and the stunning surroundings the Blue Bell offers.  


Titman Firth created a logo which symbolised a bell shape - linking to the Blue Bell in name as well as the church’s bells. A slate blue gave a high quality feel and further link to the name complimented by a silver secondary colour. Modern typeface and use of capital letters enhanced the branding style adding the perfect backdrop to newly commissioned photography art directed by Titman Firth.


New signage, a comprehensive website with ongoing development, seasonal promotional menus, press adverts and editorial in local press fully feature the new branding and photography. Restaurant menus enhance the heritage through local information on the reverse. Photography shows a host of food images shot on location together with venue imagery. To avoid interior images being too detailed we took multiple close-ups to showcase individual areas or views. The views reflecting exactly what you would see when sitting at a table neatly translating the experience. 

Since establishing the brand in 2013 the Blue Bell continues to grow in custom and success.
